Biomedical Engineering
Chairs with a primary focus on biomedical engineering:
Research in the field of biomedical engineering at RWTH Aachen University has extended considerably in the last years. The research activities are concentrated in the Helmholtz-institute for biomedical engineering, which is a interdisciplinary cooperation between four faculties of RWTH Aachen University. From the perspective of electrical engineering, the major research activities are the following:
- expert systems for medical diagnosis and therapy,
- surgery supported by image processing,
- analysis techniques based on image processing,
- personal-health-care-systems,
- monitoring systems.
