The Division for Technical Facilities Management - Mechanical Systems structurally belongs to the Department of Facility Management with RWTH Aachen Central University Administration. In six areas, our staff makes sure that the machines and facilities used at the university always work smoothly.

Our Responsibilities

Supply Technology

This includes, for example, maintenance, repairs, fault recovery, changes, and improvements to supply technologies and facilities for heat, gas, water, as well as waste disposal facilities, community heating distribution stations, lecture hall media, and metrological and standard technical facilities and equipment.

Our staff is also responsible for the technical maintenance of air conditioning systems, ventilation systems, and systems for the cold or compressed air.  Additionally they take care of the elimination of bugs or small modifications on these systems.

Further Areas of Responsibilitiy

Our team also undertakes metal working projects, the generation of heat, cold water, and compressed air in the HW Nord, the operation, maintenance, and servicing of supply systems for hot and cold water, electricity, and compressed air, the maintenance work and surveillance of operations in VK Melaten, and community heating supply.
