RWTH Aachen University has expanded its governance structures and now has a Strategy Board, which consists of selected high-profile researchers of the University. Acting as a coordinating body, the Strategy Board oversees the implementation of all agreed strategic principles and provides impetus for the development of future strategic plans and priorities.
Furthermore it helps with identifying potential new research areas and acts as a central advisory body to both the Rectorate and the Faculties.
The responsibilities of the Strategy Board include:
- Structural and Development Plans as well as Performance Agreements for the individual Disciplines and Faculties
- Implementation of the RWTH 2020 Strategy
- Coordination and planning activities to prepare for the next stage of the Excellence Initiative
- Further development of JARA, the Jülich Aachen Research Alliance
