Our Responsibilities

We offer programs and individual advising and coaching services for the respective target groups. Our goal is to support doctoral candidates, post docs, junior researchers, and professors in developing their skills and abilities and to use them to shape the future. Our services our bundled into different competence centers and programs:


Center for Professional Leadership

The Center for Professional Leadership (CPL) offers programs for various target groups and faculty at different career stages. We support skills development in a number of career-relevant areas of competence.

With our Program for Researchers and Leaders, we support postdocs and science managers by offering seminars and workshops on topics such as leadership and management, networking, strategic career planning, and preparation for appointment processes.

Individual Mentoring and Coaching for Advanced Talents supplements the Program for Researchers and Leaders and is targeted at junior research group leaders and postdocs with honors and scholarships. We assist them in their career development and with attaining thier individual goals.

The Program for Professors is specifically designated for professors at RWTH Aachen. We offer internal and external coaching and further education opportunities to further develop your management and leadership skills.

Center for Doctoral Studies

The Center for Doctoral Studies (CDS) is the central office for extracurricular qualifications for doctoral candidates. The CDS offers all doctoral candidates a comprehensive seminar program for expanding their transferable skills. As proof of all your achieved qualifications during your doctoral studies, the CDS issues you a doctorate supplement, that is given to you with your doctorate diploma. The CDS accompanies the Forum for Female Doctoral Candidates, a forum for supporting young female researchers at RWTH Aachen.

Femtec Career Building Program

Femtec.Network is a joint career program from eleven partners who aim at preparing women from engineering and the natural sciences from the nine participating universities for management positions.
