Division 5.1 offers comprehensive services regarding the university's organizational and operational structure to central university administration as well in part to all RWTH institutions.
General Internal Management
Within internal management, we are concerned with everything that has to do with internal operation procedures within the central university administration: We take care of the internal management of data processing, i.e. the planning and agreement to the use of instruments and processes for data processing, and optimize business processes. Additionally, we are responsible for internal management investigations and developments and undertake calculations of profitability. We also determine detailed regulations on Gleitende Arbeitszeit, on Conversations between managers and staff, MAG for short, that regularly take place, and the Distribution of University IDs.
Furthermore, we manage and coordinate short-term and long-term arranged projects and work groups for various topic areas. Two examples of work groups, which we consistently supervise, are the Board for Questions Regarding Wage Rights and the suggestion scheme at RWTH, Creative Idea Management – KIM. As a result, we regularly work together with other institutions both within and outside of the University.
We offer a multitude of electronic services to support business operations. Above all, this includes the Jobs Database, the Reference number directory, the Electronic telephone directory, the Form database and the Template database with the layout of forms, the Circulars database, the Geschäftsverteilungsplan, and the Staffing process.
The Web Team designs and coordinates the central RWTH Aachen website in close collaboration with web editors from all institutions, the press office, and IT divisions. A team of three translators is reponsible for the English-language pages on the central RWTH Aachen website and supports RWTH institutions with the translation of websites, forms, and other documents.
Please note that due to construction work, the Mail Center has been temporarily relocated to the Talbot parking lot right behind the seminar building at Schinkelstraße.
Since 2012, the central services Telephone Communication, the Mail Center and the Print Shop in the Main Building also belong to the division. These offer RWTH institutions comprehensive services regarding mail and printing.
