Distinguished Professorships
"Distinguished Professorships" were typically used to fund larger scale research projects by professors from the Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Natural Sciences. Awardees had an excellent research record and were in an advanced stage in their career.
Distinguished Professors received funding to carry out specific projects, which enabled them to establish and maintain a nationally and internationally competitve research environment.
The funds could be used for new research equipment, the recruitment of research staff, research visits, and hosting of visiting scholars.
