Division 1.1 Academic Affairs Office

 

Division 1.1 Academic Affairs belongs to the Department of Academic Affairs and Registrar's Office within RWTH Aachen's Central University Administration.

 

Our Responsibilities

Responsibilities for the Division of Academic Affairs are primarily within the university, and include the organization of academic honors, galas, and award ceremonies. The division is also responsible for the management of the senate and other committees. This includes the Constitutional Committee, the Equal Opportunities Committee, or the Commitee for Quality Improvement in Teaching and Learning.

The selection of University Senate members and Faculty Councils takes place through the Electoral Office, within the division. Some of the individuals chosen for this committee belong to the university's academic staff. The division also manages the organization of the student course evaluations and carries out the graduate survey.

 

In addition to these focuses, university ordinances and constitutions, adopted in the individual committees, are publicized in the official announcements. The division also advises the preparation of the student handbook and Dean's Offices handbook, as well as basic matters in doctoral studies and post-docs. Furthermore, the division manages the legal examination of proposals for awarding appellations to unbudgeted and honorary professors.
