Besides the manifold range of counseling services and informative meetings, the Family Services Center also helps parents to find an adequate childcare and attends to the organization of daycares in general. The lack of sufficient childcare services still poses a problem for young researchers at RWTH Aachen as well as for the recruitment of high-class researchers.
There isn't sufficient childcare in Aachen, particularly for children under the age of three. As a result, RWTH established a large daycare center, where nine children ages four months to three years are supervised by two daycare workers. This measure specifically supports junior researchers and allows them to reliably plan their scientific career and balance research and family.
