CV
Since October 2008, Meike Niggemann has been heading the Junior Research Group "Efficient Synthesic Strategies" at the Institute of Organic Chemistry. Her research focus is on calcium catalyzed hydrocuntionalization of C-C-Bonds, which shall be applied as a new "biocompatible" method for the setup of biological and medically-relevant substances.
Meike Niggemann studied Chemistry with a focus on organic and biochemistry at TU Dortmund. After graduation (Diplom, 2002) she worked on her doctoral thesis in the working group of Prof. Dr. Bernd Plietker in organic chemistry (2007). The title of her doctoral thesis is "Modular Synthesis of Carbohydrate-Libraries Based upon Novel RuO4-Catalyzed Oxidative Cyclisations."
Meike Niggemann took up studies and research projects at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Texas at Austin, USA.
