Future Oriented Promotion
An important component of future-oriented promotion of university members is famliy friendly human resources management, that touches upon responsible and sensible behavior of managers with topics such as childcare and care for family members. In this way, family and career can be made more compatible, which is also simultaneously a prerequisite for equal treatment between women and men.
The Equal Opportunities Office and the Integration Team publicized a guidebook of golden rules for family friendly management on this topic, making it possible for 1000 managers at RWTH Aachen to quickly get an overview of the demands of a family friendly university. The promotion of compatability between family and career is a central component of RWTH Aachen's equal treatment policy and should be further concretely implemented through structural measures.
Award for Family Friendliness
Every year the award FAMOS für FAMILIE, recognizes RWTH Aachen managers, who have campaigned for better compatability between family and career through a particularly family friendly management style. Starting in January, employees can nomination their boss through the Family Services Center and thus call attention to examples of best practices or to particular involvement from their boss. Online nomination begins in January after the Christmas holidays and is activated for six weeks.
