Support for Advanced Talents
With the Individual Mentoring and Coaching service, we offer RWTH Aachen’s advanced talents support with their academic career and attaining their individual goals.
Advanced talents can take advantage of the Program for Researchers and Leaders human resources development program to support their professional and personal development. The program offers dedicated Workshops for Postdocs and Academic Leaders (de); additionally, junior professors can participate Program for Professors.
Based on the feedback from advanced talents in qualitative and quantitative questionnaires, we would like to offer this group of individuals, which is, for the most part, employed without the prospect of tenure, individual mentoring and coaching through the German Association of University Professors and Lecturers (DHV).
This offer is expressly recommended for advanced talents by the Rector’s Office and is under the patronage of Professor Klee, Vice-Rector for Human Resources Management and Development.
Who are advanced talents?
Advanced talents at RWTH Aachen include:
- Both tenure and non-tenure track junior professors
- Junior research group leaders and postdocs with honors and scholarships, such as DFG Emmy Noether, EU Marie-Curie, ERC Starting Grants
If you have received a comparable award or scholarship and would like to participate in the program, please contact us.
The service for RWTH Aachen advanced talents encompasses two components. You have the option of participating in both or just one of the components.
An experienced professor acts as your mentor to support and accompany you during your personal development and career planning. These can be current or emeritus professors from your own discipline or a different one. It is also possible that the mentor is from RWTH Aachen, another university, or a research institution.
Would you like to profit as the mentee in a one-on-one mentoring relationship? You can contact us at any time.
2) Individual Coaching
We offer you the possibility to participate in the renowned coaching program organized by the German Association of University Professors and Lecturers (DHV), for individual career advising and preparation for appointment negotiations.
To participate, submit your detailed questions and resume. Based on these materials, you will participate in a two-hour one-on-one intensive coaching with a DHV expert. This will take place during a coaching day in Aachen, exclusively organized for RWTH’s advanced talents.
Advanced talents will be informed via email as soon as another coaching day with the DHV takes place in Aachen so that they can apply in time.
