International Research Training Groups (IRTG)
International Research Training Groups are joint institutions by German and international educational and research institutions, offering an internationally oriented structured doctoral education and training.
Graduate Research Training Groups with Partner Institutions Abroad
Typically, IRTGs offer a research and academic program jointly developed by the partner institutions. This program includes soft skills training sessions and a six-month period of study abroad at one of the partner universities. Furthermore, the participating doctoral candidates are supervised and mentored by two professors from different partner institutions.
