Inter-University Research Centers
RWTH Aachen University participates in two inter-university research centers, the Bioeconomy Science Center, which conducts research for a sustainable bioeconomy, and TeachING-LearnING.EU, a competency and services center for teaching and learning in the engineering sciences.
Bioeconomy Science Center (BioSC)
Following an integrative strategy, the Bioeconomy Science Center (BioSC) conducts research for a sustainable bioeconomy. Since its foundation in 2010, it pools the expertise of the research and educational institutions RWTH Aachen, the University of Bonn, Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, and Forschungszentrum Jülich. Currently, 54 research institutes contribute to the Center.
TeachING-LearnING.EU is a joint project of RWTH Aachen University, TU Dortmund University, and Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Under the "Bologna - The Future of Teaching" initiative, the Competency and Services Center receives funding from Stiftung Mercator and the Volkswagen Foundation. In support of the Bologna reform process, it aims at enhancing teaching and learning in the Engineering Sciences on a sustainable basis
