EXIST Scholarship for Entrepreneurs

 

The EXIST Entrepreneuer Scholarship is nationwide funding program, which supports innovative business formations from universities and research institutions in the early phase.

The development of the product/service idea and the creation of a business plan till the formation of the business are supported by the EXIST Entrepreneuer Scholarship.

The applicant for the funding is the university. The prospective entrepeneuers develop an idea outline, in which the present their innovative business project to the university. The university names a mentor, who is required to assume the technical accompaniment. The supervision of the entrepreneuers is ensured through an entrepreneuerial network. The university provides the entrepeneuers with a workplace for one year.

Who is funded?

• Researchers from universities and research institutions
• University graduates or former academic staff (up to five years after graduation or leave)
• Students who have completed at least half of the their studies by the time the proposal is submitted
• Entrepreneurial teams of up to 3 people

What is funded?

• Innovative technology oriented entrepreneurial purposes
• Innovative services with high customer benefit, that touch upon scientific knowledge and give reason to expect unique selling points in the market

How is it funded?

• Maximum duration of funding is 1 year
• Assurance of personal source of livelihood via a grauduated scholarship:
  • Doctoral studies: 2500 Euros a month
  • University degree: 2000 Euros a month
  • Students: 800 Euros a month
  • Child stipend: 100 Euros a month per child
• Material Costs: up to 10000 Euros for individual start ups (maximum of 17000 Euros for teams)
• Start up related coaching: 5000 Euros
