Support for Postdocs and Non-Professorial Academic Staff
For early-career scientists, the postdoctoral stage is of great importance, especially concerning career development. RWTH Aachen provides support for postdocs, and also for non-professorial academic staff, in the form of continuing education opportunities and individual coachings
We at RWTH place emphasis on supporting researchers in planning and developing their career.
Researchers face challenges such as taking on leadership roles and project responsibilities, being involved in teaching and networking activities, and making career-related decisions.
For this reason, RWTH Aachen provides support for researchers in the form of continuing education opportunities, such as seminars and workshops, and individual coachings.
Program for Academic Career Development
The seminars and workshops provide the participating researchers with skills training in the six core areas
- Leadership Capability
- Innovation and Research Capabilities
- Motivation and Commitment
- Individual Development
- "We-Feeling"
- Teaching Skills
In addition, the course offerings will also address central topics such as internationalization, equal opportunities, and diversity.
We also would like to draw your attention to the teaching and learning coachings (de) to improve academic instruction offered by the Center for Learning and Knowledge Management.
AixCYR - Aachen Center for Young Researchers
The "Aachen Center for Young Researchers" (AixCYR) provides our postdocs with multiple networking opportunities, e.g. by organizing regular meetings of early-career scientists.
These meetings give participants the chance to discuss their experiences within and beyond their individual fields of expertise and provide a forum in terms of support, discussion and exchange, also with regard to career planning and career opportunities.
