The Right Funding Program for your Research Idea

With our assistance you will identify appropriate calls for proposals and sources of funding to support your research ideas. We invite you to make use of our basic advising services or the ELFI Project Database (de).

Individual Advice on National and EU Research Funding

In the proposal writing process we assist you with meeting the formal requirements of the call or program. We advise you and provide guidelines on

National Research Funding (de) and
EU Research funding,

and we offer assistance in reviewing your proposal and provide you with feedback on whether it complies with requirements of the call or funding program.

Seminars and Workshops on the Topic of Research Funding

In our seminars we provide support and training for university staff seeking to bid for external research grant funding.

Hands-on workshops with different thematic priorities train you to create successful project proposals.

Furthermore, we provide researchers at RWTH with information on current research funding programs and calls for proposals.

Provision of Administrative Project Management

We provide special support for EU programs coordinated by RWTH institutions as well as for the coordinated funding programs by the German Research Foundation (DFG), such as

Collaborative Research Centers (SFB)
Research Units and
Graduate Research Training Groups.

We support you in the entire process from the first outline of ideas through the application and reviewing process to the realization of the project. For approved EU-funded projects and Collaborative Research Centers, we provide administrative project management services.

  • announcements of calls for proposals and funding opportunities such as project support, individual grants, science awards, etc.
  • new funding programs and science and research funding schemes
  • upcoming RWTH events concerning research funding

RWTH Aachen Institutional Strategy

The RWTH Aachen Institutional Strategy II, which receives funding from the second phase of the Excellence Initiative, gives insights into the University's strategic plans, providing useful information for your application for funding.
