Diesel fuel filters are used for the separation of water in diesel fuel. Within the framework of discussions on the climate change, new laws on a minimum content of biodiesel have been introduced in the last years. However, currently applied filters show only insufficient separative capacity and a low filtration efficiency. The optimization of the water separation ability of fibers for diesel fuel filters, but also for sportswear, medical or hygiene products is of profound technical and economic importance.

Task

- Development of clover leaf-shaped bicomponent fibers - Characterisation of fiber properties
