In a research-oriented development project for an innovative telescoping boom in harsh environments, further investigations of mechanical stress are required. Using state of the art FEA and/or MBS software (Adams, Ansys, Simpack, Inventor, etc.) the student should develop and evaluate various models. Goals are optimization of the construction and definition of suitable measurement sections for mechanical stresses. Task

-Develop FEA and/or MBS models from existing CAD models -Research in bionic approaches -Define calibration setup -Develop scenarios for reference tests
