Certificate Mobility
Please note
You can also get the Certificate Mobility if you already have spent a period abroad in order to achieve one of the mentioned objectives. Nevertheless you still have to take part in the intercultural training course.
The Certificate Mobility is targeted at students who wish to spend a period of study abroad.

Before embarking upon your study abroad project, you will take part in a two-day intercultural training course. By going abroad you should achieve one of the following objectives: a study abroad period of at least three months, an internship abroad for at least two months, or a research project for a period of at least one month.
The intercultural training sessions take place on a regular basis, i.e. once a month. In order to find out about the next sessions, please refer to the Calendar of the International Office. If you wish to participate in a training class, please contact the project coordinator. The training sessions will be held in German.
After having returned from study or internship abroad, you will have to complete the Experience Report form provided by the International Office.
Elective Components
Irrespective of whether you wish to obtain the Certificate-Mobility or the Certificate-Integration, you have to complete four electives in addition to the mandatory components. To obtain the Certificate, you will have to complete all mandatory components as well as the required number of electives.
Group 1
You must select at least two components from the list of group 1 electives:
- Language Course
- Be Buddy Programme
- Active Involvement in a Student Society or Club at RWTH
- Social support of school students
- Summer School Participation
- Activity as a Co-Teacher at the Arts and Humanities Language Center (SZ)
- RWTH Research Ambassador Programme
- Lectures and Seminars with an International Orientation
- Europa macht Schule (For the Eurepean students)
