What Experiences Have Fellow Students Had in the Femtec Careerbuilding Program?
The Femtec workshops and summer schools are a good supplement and change from normal studies. In the innovation workshop, you directly see how companies work and how they differ from university life. Additionally, there is the high point, to be in a group of girls, have fund, and to turn Aachen relationships upside down.

Above all the personal support and advising with regards to women-specific questions really helped me, in addition to the diverse workshops, which ensure a skilled entrance in the professional world and are even fun.

Through the Femtec Program, I have the possibility to get in contact with other female students from around Germany, who are also interested in technology. The exchange of experiences and getting to know partner companies rank first for me!

I took my first course in Fall 2008, which was very diversified. In addition to company excursions, the program included seminars, for example on personal strengths and weaknesses. These seminars prompt you to think about your professional future. This leads to excited discussion in the team and to the exchange of experiences from both sides. In this way, Femtec has created an important point for my later career start.

What I like most about the FemTec program is its diversity: due to participants from many different backgrounds, universities and degree programs there are lots of different approaches to the problems and questions addressed. We also gained insight into very different companies early on in our studies.

I have only participated in one Femtec School. Nevertheless, I would recommend it to anyone. I not only learned a great deal about myself, and my strengths and weaknesses, but I also met nice people, visited interesting companies, and had a lot of fun!

I learned a lot about myself during the first few days of our Winter School. In the seminar 'Standort- und Zielbestimmung' we were often able to talk about our strengths and weaknesses and learn how to better 'market' them. The mood throughout the days was great and I finally had the chance to talk to other young women about my studies and future plans. This is usually hardly possible in my studies. The excursion was the highlight of the first Winter School for me. I not only discovered my dream career and became more familiar with it. Companies also offered us a great, diverse program: driving a Porsche Cayenne around the site, Berlin tour with lunch at Brandenburger Gate, tour of a nuclear power plant, and much more. Additionally we learned about partner companies, their goals, company philosophies, and entry level positions. A great opportunity, to apply what was learned from the company structure seminar.

Femtec enables me to talk with other female students who have the same interests as I do. "Networking" at collaborative companies is not the only thing. Femtec offers an exciting repetoire of seminars during the schools, in which vital soft skills are taught. And if there is a problem in everyday university life, when applying for internships, or other topics, there is always someone there to advise and support me.

Femtec is the possibility for me to establish great contact with like-minded female students and to stimulate them through many seminars and meetings, and to consciously choose my own path.
