Conditions for allocating scholarships to new Master's students at RWTH Aachen University
The Doktor Carl-Arthur Pastor Foundation (de) ( c/o Generali Deutschland Holding AG) awards scholarships to new Master's degree students at RWTH Aachen University. Grant holders will receive the scholarship for one semester or one year. It is aimed at graduates with special scholarly and scientific talents so as to give them the opportunity to focus on their Master's degree program.
Who Can Receive a Scholarship?
The program is aimed at students from Russia and the Ukraine who are applying for a Master's degree course at RWTH Aachen University. Current students at RWTH Aachen are not eligible to apply. Candidates are expected to have an outstanding Bachelor’s degree. They must convince the panel that they are able to complete their Master’s degree within four semesters or five at the most. The scholarship is open to applicants who are currently not receiving any other grants or allowances.

What Documents Must Be Submitted?
Students must submit the following documents in English or German in order to complete their scholarship application:
- Application form, fully completed and signed
- Copy of your previously completed, university degree
- Copy of your Acceptance Letter to RWTH Aachen (this must be handed in later if not available at time of application)
- Statement of Motivation explaining why you are applying for this scholarship
- Enrollment certificate from RWTH Aachen University (Studienbescheinigung), as soon as it is available
- Letter of recommendation (if available)
Scholarship Type and Amount
The scholarship serves as a stipend for the cost of living. The scholarship amount is 750 Euros a month. Candidates are allowed to work part-time for up to four hours a week. Any earnings exceeding this limit will be deducted from the stipend. Up to nine students can be funded with a year long scholarship.
Tenability
The scholarship is tenable for one semester or one year. The committee makes the final decision on the tenability. The scholarship cannot be extended.
Compulsory Internship
If the student is completing an internship and receives a monthly renumeration of at least 750 Euros, scholarship payments will be stopped for the duration of the internship. If the student receives less than 750 Euros for the internship, he or she may apply for funding, which could be up to the maximum scholarship rate from foundation funds. The tenability will not be extended automatically by the duration of the internship.
Duties of the Scholarship Recipient
The grantholder has the duty to dedicate him- or herself to their degree course. He or she is not supposed to take up any kind of additional activities or jobs that are not compatible with the aims of the scholarship. If the grantholder interrupts or prematurely terminates their studies, he or she has to notify the foundation immediately.
Requirements for the Year Long Scholarship
Students with a one-year scholarship must hand in a midterm report, also called a Intermediate Report of Experience, about the course of their studies by April 15. Students must also submit a letter from the faculty or institute, stating that the student has completed his or her coursework as planned.
Students must also submit a Final Experience Report and a current transcipt of records by September 30.
Requirements for the Semester Long Scholarship
Students with a one-semester scholarship must hand a Final Experience Report by January 15.
If the required documents are not submitted by the deadline, payments for the remaining months will be discontinued and the student risks having to pay back the money he or she has already received.
Withdrawal of the Scholarship
The scholarship will be withdrawn if the holder does not apply him- or herself sufficiently to their degree course. The holder may also have to pay back the stipend if he or she has drawn any payments illegitimately without notifying the Foundation within a month.
