The DAAD is an institution jointly established by the German universities. It is to promote relations of German institutions of higher education with international universities and arranges exchange programmes for academics and students as well as other international programmes and projects.

Who can apply for a Scholarship?

The DAAD offers scholarships mainly in the area of postgraduate education and training (doctoral study, research); the selection process is highly competitive. Master's degree students from selected countries may also apply for DAAD scholarships.

Application

Applicants from eligible groups (i.e. students, graduates, doctoral candidates, and academic staff) have to submit their applications either to the German Embassy in their home country or to a DAAD office branches there.
