Oerlikon Textile Scholarships
Oerlikon Textile Scholarships for Students of Mechanical Engineering, with Textile Technology as Specialisation Target Group
The scholarship programme is targeted at RWTH students in the following degree programmes:
- Students of Mechanical Engineering in Bachelor's / Master's Degree Courses (the scholarship period begins with the candidate's 5th semester of study)
- Students of Mechanical Engineering in the Diplom degree course who have completed the preliminary examination and who have chosen Textile Technology as their specialisation (or who have taken up a relevant supplementary degree course)
- Students in the Joint Degree and Teacher Training Programme (Diplom/Teacher Training) with Textile Texchnology as one of the subjects
- In some cases students in other degree courses or with other specialisations with a textile-related focus are eligible for funding as well
Scholarship Benefits
- Supervision and guidance through the Institute for Textile Technology
- Financial support
- Contacts with business and industry through excursions to companies, attendance of trade fairs, conversations with institute members and representatives from industry
- Internship opportunities in the field of textile technology
- Support with study or work abroad opportunities (contacts, support with organisational matters, financial support, etc.)
- Participation in interdisciplinary projects undertaken by intertnational student teams
Requirements
- Candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Enthusiasm for textile engineering and interest in high-tech textile products
- Interest in other than textile-related subject areas; ability to organise own work with minimal supervision
- Above average academic performance
- Foreign language competence (English and one other foreign language)
