The next Talk Lehre will take place on June 6, 2018.

Talk Lehre was initiated in 2011 at the request of teachers and student representatives. The annual event informs teachers in particular, but also students and other interested university members, about the implementation of the Excellent Teaching institutional strategy. It also enables dialog about teaching related topics on a larger platform.

Diverse Topics

So far Talk Lehre has taken place seven times with up to 200 participants. The topic of focus changes every year. The Excellent Teaching contest of the Stifterverband für die deutsche Wissenschaft was the focus the first year. In 2012, the conversation revolved around all new teaching and learning media. 2013 was about the beginning of studies, that is the transition from school to university and qualification in teaching. Blended Learning was the focus in 2014, while in 2015, the discussion centered on the topics of quality management as well as digitalization in teaching and learning. In 2017, the focus lays on the digitalization of teaching.

Teaching Talk 2018 – Digitalization in Teaching & Learning

This year’s Talk Lehre event is scheduled to take place on June 6, 2018, between 1:00 and 5:30pm. In 2018, the focus will be on digitalization in teaching and learning.

Several talks will highlight selected projects and best practice examples from the arena of teaching and learning at RWTH Aachen University. Furthermore, a poster presentation with exhibits on the topic of teaching at the University will invite the attendants to learn about and discuss new projects and concepts.

Furthermore, we are excited to announce that Dr. Malte Periske from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz will give a talk as a guest speaker. Moreover, during the event, this year’s RWTH Lecturers will be honored. The Talk Lehre program is available for download.

If you want to participate in the event, please register by June 4.

Subsequent to the event, we will celebrate the official recognition of RWTH’s quality management system for its courses of study – the award of the so-called “Systemakkreditierung” with a champagne reception in the foyer of the C.A.R.L. auditorium.

We are looking foward to seeing you in June!
