Registering for CDS Events
You can register for CDS events online. Carefully read the seminar description. Enter whichever id you registered with the CDS, either your TIM user name or student ID number, .
Registration Confirmation
If we can issue you a spot in your desired seminars, then you will receive a confirmation email. If the course has already been filled by the time you register, you can register your email address with the notification service. We will immediately send you an email notification as soon as a spot opens up.
Waiting List
Individuals on the waiting list will be automatically informed of open seats through the notification service. If you would like to take the open spot, you should register online as quickly as possible. If the waiting list is very long, the system will notify small groups of people from the list, one after another. The spot will go to whomever registers first from a group.

Cancellation
If you have registered for a course but cannot participate, please email the CDS office.
Please note: If you do not cancel, we cannot give your spot to someone on the waitlist. As a consequence, it is possible that this will restrict you from registering for any future CDS events.
Costs
All CDS events are free of charge. However participants are responsible for any additional costs, e.g. overnight stays and food.
Courses with Multiple Modules
If you are interested in attending a course made up of different modules that build on one another, you must attend them in order. For example, if a course is made up of three modules, you can only attend module three, if you have already attended modules one and two. Please be sure to pay attention to the tips in the seminar descriptions.
There are also courses that are made up of various modules that do not build upon one another. In this case, you can decide in which order you would like to attend the modules.
Language Courses
Language courses in the CDS program are offered by the RWTH Aachen Sprachenzentrum. The Language Center's participation requirements and registration deadlines apply. You can register for your desired courses on its website. The same applies to the courses "Conference English" und "Scientific Writing."
Please note: You will need your TIM username to register through the Language Center. If you do not have a TIM username, you can get a temporary one through the CDS. To do so, please contact the CDS office.
Please note: A certain level of language skills must be proven for some language courses. You can do this through a placement exam before beginning the language course, for example. Please contact the Language Center to find out if this applies to you.
Language courses begin the second week of the semester. Please pay attention to any changes in the schedule mentioned in the course description.
Language Courses in the German Language Program
The CDS sponsors a few spots in the German Language Program courses (with 4hrs/week/semester) every semester. You can apply for one of these spots, if you are registered with the CDS. Typically you receive a spot if you have registered for CDS courses before the registration deadline. Unfortunately we cannot recognize late registrations with the CDS.
Evaluation
After every course, you will receive an evaluation form. Please fill this out and give it directly to the whomever lead the seminar. In doing so, you help us to improve the quality of our seminars and workshops. Alternatively, you can scan the evaluation and email it to the CDS, turn it into our office in person, or mail it to the CDS.
