The Master’s program in Aachen focuses on optimizing value added processes. Business functions such as production or logistics make direct contributions to value creation. Equally important are functions that indirectly influence processes such as information management or economic analyses.
In recent years business value added processes have undergone lasting changes. Today, they are shaped by internationality and the effective use of state-of-the-art information technology. The growing complexity is met ideally with an efficiency-driven and company-wide organization, meaning with consistent optimization of all processes.
The course of study comprises a compulsory component with 20 credit points and an elective component with 30 credit points. Additionally, four specializations are offered:
- Sustainability and Corporations
- Operations Research and Management
- Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Marketing
- Corporate Development and Strategy
These four specializations reflect the profile of the School of Business and Economics. Its interdisciplinary orientation focuses on the cross-section between business and economics and the engineering and natural sciences and is oriented towards the faculty's four research fields.
The prerequisite for admission to the program is an initial university degree. The required academic background is described in the exam regulations. The determination on whether or not the admissions requirements are met is made by the examination board.
