Frequently Asked Questions

I received sealed letters of recommendation or my professor wants to send the letter of recommendation directly to you, but the online application asks me to upload the letters online. What am I supposed to do?

Please send the sealed letter or have them send directly to us. It is not obligatory to upload these letters with the online application.

Do you have a template for recommendation letters?

No, persons who recommend you are free to choose any form they like.

Do you have a template for cv’s?

Yes, there is an optional template (you don’t have to use it, but are free to use it). Please use the EUROPASS cv template. To find the latest version simply type in “Europass cv template” in any internet search engine of your choice. You will be directed to the appropriate template.

How do I send my English test results to you? Where do I send them?

The most comfortable way to send us your test results is to have them send by your test center directly to us. For TOEFL-tests the RWTH Aachen University insitution code is 8504.

I would like to apply for a Master’s degree but won’t have the final degree certificate before the end of the deadline. What am I supposed to do?

This is no problem. We are aware that most students finish their studies after the end of our deadline. Therefore you are not obliged to hand in your final certificate before the deadline. Please send us your academic transcript (courses, credits, grades) up to point when you apply. You will, however, be required to show the final Bachelor’s certificate upon enrolment.

Can I transfer my admission from one term to another?

No, an admission is granted for a specific study programme and a specific term. Only under certain circumstances can a transferal be granted. A transferal can never be granted for restricted study programmes.
