Information About Submitting Application Documents
All required application documents must be received by RWTH Aachen by January 15, 2016.
Against the backdrop of the unlimited strike at Deutsche Post AG, we want to inform you that the all relevant application documents must have been received by RWTH Aachen by July 15, 2015.
If an application has not been received by RWTH Aachen by the deadline due to the strike at Deutsche Post, this will be considered your responsibility. Please note that any application received after the deadline will not be considered.
You can make sure that your application will be received by January 15, 2016, in the following ways: You can hand in your application in person in the Registrar's Office during office hours or send it through a postal operator other than Deutsche Post. Alternatively, you can drop your application in the after-hours mailbox (“Fristenkasten”) located on the outside of the RWTH Aachen main building, Templergraben 55, to the right of the Bistro entrance.

Dear Prospective Student,
Thank you for your interest in attending RWTH Aachen University.
In order to best guide you through the online application, please carefully read the following information.
Particularities for Teacher Training Courses of Study (particularly for vocational school teachers):
If you are applying for a teacher training course of study, the subject “Educational Sciences” (Bildungswissenschaften) will automatically be added to your application. Even though “Bildungswissenschaften” appears as an NC-free subject in the subject list, it is not possible to directly choose it and proceed with the application. Please choose another NC or NC free subject.
Please note that in the teacher training courses of study for vocational school teachers, not every subject can be combined with every other subject.
Please inform yourself before inputting your course of study combination in the application form, whether the subjects you chose can be combined.
You can find information about the combination possibilities in RWTH Info on Starting Studies (de).
The Bachelor course of study for vocational school teacher training typically lasts six semesters, with 180 credit points and encompasses Course of Study Model I
- two subjects (subject discipline and teaching methodology) comprising 74 credit points each,
- two vocational subjects or
- two instructional subjects or
- one vocation subject and one instructional subject
- educational studies (including teaching methods and theory) comprising 22 credit points and
- the Bachelor thesis in one of the two subjects, comprising 10 credit points.
A one month orientation school internships and an at least four week school or extra-school career field internship are part of the educational studies segment.
