2012 Education Fund Scholarship Recipients

The official scholarship award ceremony takes place in the fall to conclude the successful selection process of recipients. Every year sponsors, recipients, friends, family, and members of the university come together to participate in the celebratory awarding of the certificates. After the official celebration, students and sponsors have the possibility to personally get to know each other in a relaxed atmospher. Through the Education Fund, numerous sponsors build up later collaborations wit individuals they supported during their studies. The Education Fund thus brings to success to both sides - just as the Rector wishes.

2012 Scholarship Award Ceremony

About 600 guests joined together in Aachen City Hall this year to celebrate this year's scholarship recipients and the RWTH Aachen Education Fund sponsors. 612 scholarship recipients made it through the two-step selection process out of the more than 2500 applicants from all subject areas.

RWTH Aachen Rector, Professor Ernst Schmachtenberg, led the official portion of the celebration in the Coronation Hall. After a few words of welcome and a panel discussion, sponsors received the scholarship certificates and then handed them out to the scholarship recipients.The reception following the event provided an opportunity for guests to get to know each other and for sponsors and recipients to meet for the first time.
