Combined, the Bachelor and Master courses of study form the successor of the Diploma program in Mechanical Engineering.
The Master programs are scientific, research-oriented degree programs, aligned towards basic principles and methods. They enable students to be successful professionally successful over their entire career, because they are not restricted to learning current material, but also learn theoretical underlying fundamental concepts and methods, that last longer than current trends.
The General Mechanical Engineering course of study, ending in a Master of Science degree, particularly prepares students for a professional career in research and development. The education is strongly focused on the fundamentals of the natural sciences, technology development, and engineering methods, and is supplemented through interdisciplinary content. A solid basis of engineering knowledge in mechanical engineering is ensured through a defined framework of mandatory subjects and focus modules.
Degree Content
The three semester long course of study is broken down into two pieces. During the two semester examination period, students should complete all mandatory and elective modules. In the final and third semester, students independently work on a defined research topic and finish their Master thesis.
