Equality


RWTH Aachen University is strongly commited to promoting equality of opportunities between men and women. The university's concern for gender equality finds its expression in a number of regulations which are to ensure that the qualifications and abilities of women are fully embraced and that women are able to contribute at all levels of our university with the same rights and opportunities as their male counterparts. This commitment was recognised in 2005 when RWTH Aachen University was awarded the "Total E-Quality Award" for its equal opportunities oriented human resource policy by the TOTAL E-QUALITY association.

In cases of equal qualification, aptitude and expertise, female applicants will be given preferential treatment for salary groups and careers in which females are under-represented, unless there are preponderant reasons to give preference to another applicant. For more specific information, please refer to § 8 Article 6 of the North Rhine-Westphalian Equal Opportunities Act (Landesgleichstellungsgesetz NW).
