Kat Frankie & Band: The Evening Lights

Friday, June 22, 2018, 8pm

Kat Frankie Timothy Wiehn

The last Kat Frankie album "Please Don't Give Me What I Want" came out five years ago. In the meantime the Australian, who currently resides in Berlin, has played numerous shows; made music for others including Schulz & Böhmermann, sang a duet with Clueso, and founded Keøma. "The Evening Lights" will be the first bigger tour with a band in a while. When Kat Frankie stands on stage, you see a somewhat androgynous woman, whose guitar casually hangs around her and who keeps her hands in her pockets totally unfazed before stepping up to the mic. Despite her perceived serenity, her singing borders on the edge of dark and disturbing. A deep, dark voice, the intensity of which resembles Annie Lennox, that evokes its own world.
