ITA at the 3rd Indo-German Symposium


Mr Raveesh Kumar, Consul General of India for the German federal states Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and the Saarland, and the association of Indian students in Aachen (AISA) organised the 3rd Indo-German Symposium at the Super C, RWTH Aachen University, on the 21st of November, 2016 in Aachen, Germany.

The aim of the symposium was to discuss and reflect on the start-up revolution, issues and opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship in Germany and India as well as cross-border opportunities for this form of business.

Mr Kumar welcomed the panellists as well as an audience largely consisting of Indian students at German universities. He expressed his pleasure of creating a platform for the exchange of ideas between Indian students and industry experts.

The Institut für Textiltechnik (ITA) of RWTH Aachen University was represented by Prof. Thomas Gries in the second panel discussion on the day, titled “Fast tracking success: Working towards a Start-up”. Prof. Gries highlighted the role ITA Incubator plays in enabling a start-up environment in Germany and India through the example of Raina Industries. A lively discussion arose between the panellists and the audience on the challenges and tribulations when entering the start-up world.
