The author, biochemist, and neurobiologist Dr. Henning Beck is giving an interactive reading on the brain's potential.

 

On Thursday, July 6, 2017, Dr. Henning Beck is holding an interactive reading on the topic "To Err Is Useful. Why the Brain's Weaknesses are Our Strengths." The event begins at 7:30pm in the Theatersaal of Mensa Academica, Pontwall 3 in Aachen.

The reading is part of the LiteraTour series and is jointly organized by the RWTH AStA, Mayersche Buchhandlung and RWTHextern. Tickets can be bought in advance at the AStA or at Mayersche Buchhandlung. They cost four euros.

Beck, born in 1983, studied in Tübingen and then conducted research at the Hertie Institute for Clinical Brain Research there and completed his doctorate at the Graduate School of Cellular & Molecular Neuroscience. He worked at the University of California in Berkeley, had regular publications in Wirtschaftswoche and GEO-Magazin, and gives lectures and workshops on topics such as "Neurobiology and Creativity." His unusual lecture idea won him the title of German Science Slam Champion 2012.
