Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Risks

Talk and Discussion With Students

In his talk, Ambassador Peter Beerwerth, German Representation to the Conference on Disarmament, will provide an overview of the current situation of arms control from his perspective as an International Diplomat working in Geneva.

The talk will focus on nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation processes just under a year before the 50th anniversary of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Beerwerth will also discuss the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, and the importance of new technologies, in particular autonomous weapons systems and hypersonic weapons.

There will be plenty of time for questions and discussions during the event. In addition to the topic of arms control, you will also learn more about the tasks and profession of an International Diplomat at the German Federal Foreign Office. The event thus offers a unique insight into both the diplomatic world and the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva.
