IRTG 1508 Arterial Remodeling
Contact
The International Research Training Group builds on an extensive and complementary network of bilateral collaborations between RWTH Aachen University and Maastricht University and benefits from the close proximity of the two educational and research institutions.
Given the enormous significance of cardiovascular disease for morbidity and mortality in western societies, the IRTG's research program focuses not only on the underlying macrovascular pathobiology and pathophysiology of Arterial Remodeling, namely atherosclerosis and plaque destabilization, but also on therapeutic arteriogenesis and arterial tissue engineering.
A major goal is to introduce novel and relevant cellular and molecular targets from related fields, e.g. immune mediators and growth factors.
