Congratulatory Message From RWTH Anniversary Partner Infineon
"I always have fond memories of my time at RWTH. From 1988 to 1994, I studied and then graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. The job prospects in the semiconductor industry were pretty modest. Nevertheless, I specialized in exactly this field during my studies. It was just what fascinated me the most. I have never regretted it.
Today, semiconductor technology plays a crucial role in addressing the most pressing challenges of our time. I am proud that Infineon is making a significant contribution to a future worth living in the areas of mobility, energy efficiency, security, IoT, and big data.
To do this, knowledge must be created and communicated, research and teaching are needed – in other words, the core competencies of RWTH. Innovators have been educated at the highest level here for 150 years. RWTH thus makes an important contribution to Germany's innovative strength as a business location. And it has always offered young people the space to follow their inspiration. On behalf of Infineon, I would like to congratulate you most warmly on this achievement. We are delighted that many students and graduates of this excellent university work at Infineon and follow our mission to make life easier, safer, and more environmentally friendly.
I wish RWTH continued success when it comes to learning, researching, and turning ideas into reality.
Jochen Hanebeck, CEO Infineon
