In light of the progressive spread of the coronavirus and the associated effects on society, RWTH Aachen University has decided to cancel the festivities for its 150th anniversary this year.

The motto for RWTH’s anniversary is “Lernen. Forschen. Machen”.
This perfectly expresses what the University stands for.
On the one hand, it is a university – where students learn – “Lernen” and conduct research – “Forschen” – just like at all higher educational institutions.
At the same time, RWTH differs from other universities when it comes to how this is implemented: innovations are ultimately driven forward and made palpable, drivable, viewable, tangible, visible. So, in other words, they are realized – “Machen”. This is what RWTH is all about.
