Architect and RWTH alumna Marcella Hansch will be giving a presentation on "Pacific Garbage Screening" on Tuesday, May 2, 2017

The lecture will begin at 6:30pm, in the Ford Hall, SuperC, Templergraben 57. The event is being organized by the RWTH Alumni Team, RWTHextern, and the Junges Forum of the BWK e.V.

350 tons of plastic garbage currently land in our world oceans every day. Pacific Garbage Screening aims to fight this pollution head on. A self-sufficient platform anchored within the mass of garbage will collect plastic particles from the oceans and use them as a source of raw materials. The project idea was scientifically underpinned by Pacific Garbage Screening e.V., where the concept to protect the environment and world's oceans was drafted, adapted, and then realized.

Admission is free of charge and registration is not required.
