Hydrogen Clusters4Future of RWTH and Forschungszentrum Jülich hosts international conference.
The Aachen Hydrogen Colloquium will be held for the first time on May 3 and 4, 2022. The Hydrogen Clusters4Future of RWTH Aachen University and Forschungszentrum Jülich have invited scholars from Germany and abroad to come to Aachen for the event. They will discuss research findings on various hydrogen technologies during the conference. These include the production of hydrogen by electrolysis or biological pathways, the storage and transportation of hydrogen, and its use in the mobility sector and in industry. The effects on the environment, economy, and society are also on the agenda.
In 2021, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) selected the Hydrogen Clusters4Future as one of the seven winners of the Clusters4Future initiative. The clusters focus on opening up new areas of innovation and finding solutions to the challenges of the future. RWTH and Forschungszentrum Jülich jointly initiated the application for the Clusters4Future at the time, and RWTH Professor Stefan Pischinger is now coordinating the collaboration.
"I am convinced that hydrogen as a chemical energy carrier can and must make a major contribution to the transition to sustainable energy sources. Through research, innovation, and dialog with industry and society, we can drive the growth of green hydrogen in Germany and internationally. Our objective is clear – we want to develop a sustainable, climate-neutral hydrogen economy," declares Pischinger.
