RWTHextern is proud to present “Hidden Figures” and “Flatliners.”

 

RWTHextern Citizen’s Forum and the Filmstudio are hosting two "RWTH Kino Open Air" events on the forecourt of the Kármán Auditorium opposite the RWTH main building at Templergraben.

On Friday, September 6, 2019, the 2017 film "Hidden Figures" will be shown. It tells the story of African-American female mathematicians who played a major role in NASA's Mercury and Apollo programs.

In "Flatliners - Today is a beautiful day to die" from 1990, a group of medical students experiment with artificially induced near-death experiences. "Flatliners" will be presented on Saturday, September 7, 2019.

On both nights, the program will start off at 8pm with talk, music and short films. Admission is free of charge and registration is not required.

Program for the 2019/2020 winter semester

Every semester, the RWTHextern Citizen’s Forum organizes events on topics related to science and research. For example, an "Uni im Rathaus" panel discussion has been taking place for many years. The first event of the coming winter semester will be a lecture titled "CO2 - a climate gas as a raw material for chemistry" on Monday, October 7, 2019. Professor Walter Leitner from the RWTH Chair of Technical Chemistry and Petrochemistry will speak from 7 pm at the SuperC of RWTH Aachen University, Templergraben 57.
