Delegation from the University of Melbourne Visits RWTH
Collaboration includes exchange programs for students and doctoral candidates
Earlier this month, RWTH received a delegation from the University of Melbourne for a two-day visit. Since 2011, the Australian university has been collaborating with the E.ON Energy Research Center at RWTH Aachen University; in 2018, both universities agreed to expand their collaboration to include other university institutions and activities. Exchange programs for students and doctoral candidates are now being developed.
Professor Ulrich Rüdiger, rector of RWTH Aachen University, and Professor Ute Habel, RWTH’s Vice-Rector for International Affairs, welcomed the representatives from the University of Melbourne. The program included visits to the Institute of Aerodynamics, the Institute for Automotive Engineering, the E.ON Energy Research Center, the Chair of Chemical Process Engineering, and the Institute for Combustion Engines.
Furthermore, the delegates participated in workshops on the topics of energy research, geothermal energy, and fluid mechanics and transport. Professor Rudolf Mathar, head of the Institute for Theoretical Information Technology, accompanied the delegation on its tour of the University.
