Starting on Wednesday May 16, 2012, RWTH Aachen’s Computer Science department is hosting a lecture series on the theme ‘What is Computer Science?’ The series of events is primarily for secondary school students who enjoy mathematics and engineering, but is also open to anyone else who is interested.

Lectures from RWTH professors will be given at six different time slots on the different areas of Computer Science such as programming languages, virtual reality and supercomputers, but also on less well known but no less exciting areas like game and complexity theory. The event series' goal is to provide wide-ranging insight into the diverse and fascinating areas of information technology and to eschew clichés and prejudices.

The lectures take place at 6 pm on May 16th, 23rd, 30th, and June 13th, 20th, and 27th at Sammelbau Templergraben 64 (across from the SuperC) in Room U104.
