RWTH IT Center to Host Conference

Online conference of the “Centers for Communication and Information Processing” association scheduled to take place between March 8 and 10, 2021.

 

From March 8 to 10, 2021, the IT Center of RWTH Aachen University will host the spring conference of ZKI, the German association of higher education IT centers and publicly funded reasearch organisations. The spring conference is titled “IT Connects – The ‘New’ Role of IT in the Age of Digitalization.” Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference will take place online.

In addition to meeting their demanding everyday responsibilities, IT centers are currently facing unprecedented challenges due to the coronavirus pandemic: Higher education and research institutions are increasingly using digital teaching and learning platforms, and institutional networks and communication systems have to cope with significantly higher data rates. Furthermore, IT centers must ensure that all systems and platforms can be accessed by staff working from home.

In addition to the program of talks and lectures, the conference will offer a program of supporting events and facilitate contacts with possible sponsors.
