Symposium: Responsible Research and Innovation
On Monday, July 11, RWTH Aachen will host a symposium on the topic of "Responsible Research and Innovation."
Aside from talks and presentations on ethics in medicine, biology, biotechnology, technology, and sustainable energy supply, there will be a panel discussion on the possible consequences of research and development for the individual and society at large.
As Professor Doris Klee, Vice-Rector for Human Resources Management and Development, explained, “The topic is now a part of education of our doctoral candidates. We want our students to acquire the specialist skills and expertise to succeed as researchers or take on leadership and management roles. On top of this, however, we must raise their awareness of their ethic responsibility as researchers and innovators.”
The event will take place between 1 and 5pm in the SuperC; anyone interested is invited to attend.
