RWTH "Schülerunis" in the Summer Vacation
Registration possible until June 15, 2019.
School pupils in grades 7-11 can get to know RWTH in their summer vacation thanks to the Schüleruni scheme.
This program offers a total of 13 Schülerunis for pupils, including the Engineering Taster University for Girls and Engineering – Developing Sustainable Technologies for the Future.
Engineering Taster University for Girls and Engineering
July 22 to 26, 2019
Pupils in grades 10-11 are invited to explore various engineering disciplines and get an insight into the exciting work of engineers. They will attend workshops and lectures and go on an excursion to Forschungszentrum Jülich.
This Schüleruni is suitable for female pupils who envisage a career in engineering but do not know where to specialize. For one week, they will learn about the various fields in engineering and get to know specialist areas that they do not come into contact with in their everyday school life.
Engineering – Developing Sustainable Technologies for the Future
August 19 to 23, 2019
How are smartphones, cars, or express trains created – and what resource- and environmentally friendly extraction and production processes are behind them? How soft is steel and how hard is iron? How can we use the raw materials available to us sustainably?
Raw materials and energy are necessary in nearly all areas of our lives. New materials are also constantly being developed in the aerospace and medical technology industries, which at some point will have to be recycled in an environmentally sound manner.
We need sustainable strategies for supplying energy and raw materials - a task that demands great responsibility, yet is also very exciting for future engineers. This Schüleruni focuses on measures to protect the environment and the climate.
There are only a few places left in the other Schülerunis:
- Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering
- Electrical Engineering and IT
- Mechanical Engineering
- STEM Schüleruni – for pupils in grades 7-9
- STEM Teacher Training
It is free to participate in the Schülerunis. Travel and refreshments are at your own expense and to be organized independently. You can register until June, 15.
