Fond Memories of Life and Learning at RWTH Aachen
The School of Business and Economics at RWTH Aachen University honored this year's graduates in a festive Graduation Ceremony.
"To organize, to coordinate, to delegate – we have learnt a lot during our studies, including many things that are not taught in lectures and seminars, such as teamwork and networking.” Franziska Miebach, one of the graduates of the Master’s program in Business Administration, gave a refreshing, positive review of her and her fellow students' time as students at the School of Business and Economics at RWTH Aachen.
Before the degree certificates were presented to the graduates, the Dean of the School, Professor Oliver Lorz, congratulated the young academics on their accomplishments: “All of you have achieved something extraordinary – you have every reason to be celebrated and, of course, to celebrate.”
Since the last graduation ceremony 12 months ago, 357 students in the School have completed their degrees, ranging from bachelor's degrees to doctorates.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the prizes for outstanding graduate achievement, donated by the Association of Friends and Supporters of the School of Business and Economics at RWTH Aachen. Professor Paul Thomes, a member of the board of the Association, and Vice-Dean Professor Daniel Wentzel honored this year’s prize winners: Dr. Tarek Kasah, Dr. Peter Quadflieg, Dr. Can Soypak, Dr. Jan Stephan, Dr. Andreas Waschto, Aras Erkin M. Sc., Florian Horsch B. Sc., Peter Paffen B. Sc., Jan Bielak M. Sc., and Karl Nagel M. Sc.
Furthermore, two teaching awards were presented to two of the School’s faculty: Morten Endrikat from the Teaching and Research Area International Economics and Dr. Thomas E. Farchi, an Argentinian visiting professor, were honored for their outstanding ability to teach theoretical approaches with a view to practical applications.
