MATSE Develop the Software of Tomorrow
IT experts end their training at RWTH Aachen.
Mathematical-technical software developers – MATSE for short – are highly sought after in the IT world, as their training offers both theoretical and practical components. They learn skills with a focus on mathematics, computer science, and programming. They can contribute their knowledge to web development, parallel programming, the simulation of technical processes, database development, data visualization, and statistical evaluations. A MATSE is a specialist, particularly for extraordinary software.
71 graduates received their certificates of completion: Nubylla Arshad, Marcel Behrmann, Sarah Bensberg, Denise Bergs, Daniel Berretz, Marvin Berthold, Simon Breuer, Lennart Bucher, Juxhina Cenollari, Andreas Cruickshank, Christian Dicken, Felix Dittmann, Kevin Dohlen, Lucas Dohmen, Sebastian Drenckberg, Aljoscha Emonts, Florian Falter, Amir Firza, Gustav Friedeheim, Paul Gerste, Kilian Graf, Jonas Hahnfeld, Nathan Hamley, Lucas Hartel, Dan He, Udo Heilmann, Felix Heitbrock, Dirk Helmrich, Kevin Hoeck, Dennis Manfred Hoffmann, Daniel Hollfeld, Sarah Jendrzejczyk, Vincent Jirowetz, Lukas Kall, Deike Klein, Peter Klinkhammer, Julia Kremer, Christian Krichel, Adam Lackner, Nils Lange, Caroline Lehmann, Julian Lehnen, Doreen Limbach, Marvin Lorber, Dennis Ludwig, Alexander Lukas, Christian Malinowski, Claudio Nadenau, Nicole Nennstiel, Leon Ochsenfeld, Simon Odinius, Susanna Ollfisch, Aleksandra Olszewska, Julia Opgen-Rhein, Timo Raff, Nico Reinartz, Henning Roosen, Clemens Rüttermann, Florian Schaar, Waldemar Schäfer, Marcel Thomas Schippers, Lukas Schmidt, Marvin Christian Schneider, Tobias Stumm, Lia Stüter, Marija Urbanowitsch, Florian Völz, Johannes Wasmer, David Wesseler, Robin Westarp, Richard Zameitat.
The MATSE apprenticeship lasts three years and concludes with a final examination given by the IHK. Apprentices also have the option of completing the dual Bachelor's course of study "Scientific Programming," offered by FH Aachen at the RWTH IT Center. Many students then continue on in a Master's course of study at RWTH or FH Aachen. Additionally, the University of Maastricht offers a specialization in the topics artificial intelligence and data science for decision making. Artificial intelligence and big data are trending global topics currently. Data science for decision making provide the mathematical tools needed to model and manage large data sets – from planning to the use of customer service staff to the optimization of supply chains, the modelling of biological processes, and the extraction of meaningful components from brain signals. After their apprenticeship MATSE possess excellent qualifications to pursue a career as data scientists, researchers, or managers in many different sectors.
