Indonesian Delegation Visits RWTH
Rector Ulrich Rüdiger welcomed a delegation from Gadjah Mada University at RWTH Aachen. The university, located in Yogyakarta, is one of the leading universities in Indonesia. The primary purpose of the visit was the further development of the German-Indonesian Geo-Campus in Indonesia for Competence in Education and Research for Organisations, GetIn-CICERO for short. The institution is organized by RWTH and the Indonesian university and has been funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research since 2017.
The Campus' research focuses include the sustainable and environmentally-friendly development of raw materials, the promotion of existing mineral resources, the optimization of groundwater management in residential centers, micropollutants in the water cycle, georisks and climate adaptation in coastal zones, and energy efficiency in mining. In the future, the exchange of students and scientists through GetIn-CICERO will be intensified.
