Metallurgy for Sustainable Steel
RWTH Aachen University hosts 35th Aachen Steel Colloquium
The Aachen Steel Colloquium, hosted by the RWTH Steel Institute, has become an established discussion forum for the steel producing and processing industry. Focusing on Metallurgy for Sustainable Steel, the conference will be held on September 23 and 24, 2021. It will address current challenges such as raw materials supply, climate change, digitization in metallurgical process technology, and the promotion of young talent. Changing over to using all resources, including recycled materials, as part of a circular economy offers us new opportunities for producing steel sustainably.
Experts from both industry and research will address the topic in talks and moderated panel discussions. The conference will take place as a hybrid event. Speakers, experts, and moderators will come together at Forum M of the Mayersche Buchhandlung, where the live event will be held in compliance with the Coronavirus Protection Ordinance. The other participants will join the conference online.
Highlights of the conference are the presentation of the "Willy Korf Excellence Lecturer Award" and the "VAEh Award 2021" for scientific excellence. An accompanying poster session will highlight various exciting research topics explored at the RWTH Steel Institute.
To take part in the colloquium, please register by completing the registration form at www.ask2021.de. Students are invited to participate free of charge via the virtual conference platform.
